My Cousin Becky hitch-hiked from New York to Alaska as a young woman. She was picked up (as the story goes) three times by the same man. He admonished her for hitchhiking each time he saw her. It was a reckless thing to do, especially in Alaska. The third time he picked her up, he asked her to marry him. They homesteaded a place in Wasilla and raised four amazing children. This incredible woman passed away from cancer, but her legacy lives on. Her daughter, Brianna, has started a kelp business. She just made the most fabulous video about her business.
